Every week now. . .

Lately I feel like I have been taking things too seriously. That is to say I think I have been trying to create artwork that doesn't match my personality. My ideas haven't been flowing freely, and they keep getting pushed and pulled by outside influences. My goal is to let my drawings take on a life of their own, and let them dictate the direction. It may take a while to break old habits, but I feel determined.

Good or bad, I am going to start posting every week. Drawings, paintings, and anything else surfaces on the pages of my sketchbooks.

Illustrations for LBPost.com

LB Post illustrations are finished and are going up on their website. These illustrations accompany articles about proposed improvements to Long Beach. Some of the ideas are "pie in the sky" while others are more practical. Check it out at LBpost.com

Go to http://www.lbpost.com/brian/6149 to see my first illustration in action. This body of work represents my first batch of internet illustration, and I feel like I am off to a good start.

Self Portrait with GF Nicole

I have been practicing with adobe illustrator. Its a change for me drawing directly into the computer, but I think I can get used to it. And I believe it is the future of most illustration work.

Self Portrait Illustrator

Some quick practice with illustrator. Self portrait I did this morning. This is basically what I look like when I'm teaching.

ART MATTERS in Long Beach

I was lucky enough to be invited to ART MATTERS, a gallery show at the June Art Walk in Long Beach. Special thanks to Michael Veremans, and Devin O'Neill for coordinating everything. And thank you everyone who showed up for supporting CSULB artists.
